How it works

You do not have to live in the planning portal.

Set your home once. We read the registers every morning and write when something new, amended, or decided appears next to you — with days left in the email.

01 — Where it comes from

The same public register. A smaller radius.

Every English planning authority publishes what has been applied for. We read those portals every morning: your street, the comment window, amendments, and nearby decisions. Search also shows recent house sales from Land Registry: new owners are the ones most likely to change a house, so those addresses are worth tracking before an application is even filed.

The council may site-notice instead of writing to the whole street.

02 — The life of a comment

Five moments. One that actually matters.

  1. Submitted

    It appears on the register

You get an email if it is inside your watch. The weekly list may bury it among hundreds of others.

  2. The window

Comments are open — usually 21 days

This is the product. Days left are in the email and on the watchlist. We do not file the comment for you.

  3. You write

    On the council form

A link to their page. Your words, their process. We are not a petition site.

  4. Amended

    The proposal is rewritten

Easy to miss if you checked once. Paid watches hear again, in English — a loft appearing, solar dropping off — not the full proposal twice.

  5. Decided

    Granted, refused, or withdrawn

You hear when something nearby is permitted, refused, or withdrawn. Too late to comment on that one. That is why the window is the point.

03 — What paying includes

The street watch, item by item.

Planning nearby Applications around your home, nearest first: next door, then adjoining, then down the road. Address, proposal, days left, and a link to the council record. Not a town-wide dump of every loft extension in the borough.

Sold houses nearby Recent completions. New owners are the ones most likely to apply for work next.

Alerts and updates Email when something new appears, when the proposal is rewritten in English, and when something nearby is permitted, refused, or withdrawn. Days left are in the subject.

Tracking A watchlist for the cases that matter, with days left. Open consultations first. Monthly is two miles. Yearly is ten.

This house Other applications at the same address. What has already been asked for here.

On this plot Conservation area, Article 4, listed building, or tree preservation zone covering your home. From planning.data.gov.uk. Indicative — not a formal search.

Filter by type Paid plans can narrow to extensions, lofts and roof, new homes, garden and outbuildings, solar and energy, windows and walls, demolition, trees, change of use, paperwork, and other.

04 — What we will not do

Limits, written down.

Not a council We do not decide applications, and we are not affiliated with any authority.

Not a letter factory We do not write to your neighbours for you. Comments belong on the council form.

Not Scotland or NI yet The ingest is English planning registers. Wales follows the same family of portals where we already read them.
